Hey Cloudface!

Gotta say you have the most well constructed and accurate Spike cosplay out there.

Just out of curiosity, how exactly did you go about constructing your Spike cosplay.

My roommate is interested in doing some Spike cosplay himself and Im looking for pointers.

Awesome stuff, keep up the wicked cosplay!

Well...it was my first Cosplay...And really, I was just VERY lucky to find this suit in a thrift store for like $12. The Jacket was way big on me, so it could fold over itself like Spike's does. I had to cut off the collar and lapels and then hem all that up...and then sew on his ONE lapel. The two little connector strips were sewn on and they just keep the whole thing together with strong velcro. The sleeves, I just cut them and made cuffs. I had to take in the pants, cause they were HUGE on me (since the jacket was big enough to fold over like that).

My hair is naturally wavy, but I bought some Got2B Color Heads hair glue in green. The glue actually makes my hair curlier than normal...and adds body to your hair for the poofy effect. But it must be applied on DRY hair to get that effect.

And that's pretty much it.

I never in a million years thought it would be as popular as it has been.

Thanks!

Wanted to drop by and say that I LOVE your Cowboy Bebop cosplay! I've seen some of your "shoeless" youtube videos ad I've gotta say that you and your friends' Spike and Faye costumes are fantastic! You definitely have the snappiest Spike suit I've EVER seen, and Fay looks wonderfully sexy and in character!

Wonderful work, you definitely deserve the awards you've gotten! :D

If you're going to take someone on your train of thought, at least buy them a ticket first.

Thank you very much! I haven't done Spike in so long, but it seems that that is what I'm most known for at the convention scene.

Who cares if your hair ain't poofy enough? I think you make a smexy Spike. HOTNESS!!

Hey, I didn't know whether or not you've heard about this, but I saw this on a discussion thread on facebook and immediately thought of you:

"Hey guys - do any of you go to cons?!? Have you not been to any of the Bebop anniversary cons?!? The director and voice actors for Bebop are making the convention trail across the US this year to celebrate the 10 year anniversary and they're talking about the live action movie. Reeves is not a guarantee to play Spike - while they're traveling the cons, they're talent hunting in all the cosplay events - they're not making noise about it, but the people who dress up and can seriously pull of Bebop characters are being pulled aside and talked to about auditioning for the movie. The 2010 release date is only tentative. My fiance was asked to audition for Jet Black - he fit the part perfectly - the only change they'd have to do would be a voice over as his voice and the real Jet's voice don't come close. So yes, its not going to be the same as the originals but don't give up on it just yet - they're doing their best to keep it as close to the real thing as possible."

You should consider it!
:iconfuzzy0097:
Haha, I just realized that post was from 2008 (which would make sense seeing as how Bebop was 1998...) but hey, there's still a possibility! Really though, you should think about getting into contact with SOMEONE. A live-action Bebop will be a total fail if Spike isn't right!
Thanks for believing I could be him, though! I would jump at the chance! I think Keanu Reeves is going to be him, even though he's way too old for my tastes.

Yeah... I just recently heard some unrecent news that he had been confirmed. It saddens me.
